Beer Wednesday – Stegmaier IPA

Happy Beer Wednesday!

This week, I’m wrapping up my month long review of my $3 twelve-pack of  Stegmaier’s beers with their IPA.

Stegmaier, IPA, ale, beer, pennsylvania beer, pennsylvania ale, pennsylvania brewery, pa beer, pa brewery, pa ale, wilke-barre brewery, wilkes-barre beer, wilkes-barre ale

Of the four, this was the best. Mind you, that isn’t saying all that much, but at least this tasted like an IPA, which not every very in this twelve-pack could claim.

There wasn’t much hop flavor to this beer, but there was some. I would have like a ton more hops, but the beer had very light hiss, no malt, and a mild amount of citrus, weirdly more citrus than hops, if that makes sense.

Never one to turn down nearly-free beer, I was pretty happy with these three beers. Did I love them? No, they were just fine, not great, but worth drinking.

To wrap up my reviews of Stegmaier’s beers, I’m pleased to give their IPA a 3/6 on my six-pack scale.

I’m also less than thrilled to give this twelve-pack of Stegmaier’s beers; their Amber Lager, White Ale, Pale Ale, and IPA; a 2/6. None of their beers blew me away, and in fact I was disappointed more than once.

Overall, I wouldn’t buy this beer again. There are so many good beers our there, that I can’t imagine why I would settle for mediocrity again, if I didn’t have to.
